Dr. Kevin Kilcawley quit his day job and founded Integrative Psychology Services in 2016. He wanted to become a psychologist since high school and had always dreamed of owning his own private practice, but never expected that it would happen like this. Whether his clients were battling anxiety, depression, problematic substance use, pornography and sex addiction, relationship issues, or stress, he saw that they wanted more than what they were being given, and he answered the call.
While working as a therapist for several years across the country, he saw first hand the inadequate application of modern psychology, which reduces the understanding of the human person and, as a consequence, the scope of practice becomes limited to simply the alleviation of symptoms. Integrative Psychology Services’ holistic approach emphasizes that full mental health is not just the absence of symptoms. Rather, it is characterized by living a flourishing life; a life engaged in what is true, good and beautiful.
Prior to founding Integrative Psychology Services, Dr. Kilcawley practiced clinical psychology at multiple mental health clinics across the country. Dr. Kevin Kilcawley is a licensed psychologist in Iowa and is certified both locally and nationally as a health service provider. He received a Doctorate of Psychology and a Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from the Institute for the Psychological Sciences in Arlington, VA. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS.
Dr. Kilcawley resides in Clive, Iowa with his wife and children. His hobbies include playing the piano, creative writing, and learning to make wine.
